Accessibility Statement

Financially Astute Clubs wants every club leader, member and staff member to be able to read about our work and reach us, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they use.

Our commitment

We are committed to making this website accessible to people with disabilities and to improving the experience for everyone who visits. We treat accessibility as ongoing work, the same way we treat financial stewardship: something maintained over time, not finished once.

Conformance status

This website is designed with the intention of conforming to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. It has not yet been formally audited by an independent third party, so we describe it as intended to conform rather than fully conformant.

Measures we have taken

  • Semantic HTML with one main heading per page, a logical heading order and labelled landmarks.
  • Text and interface colors chosen to meet WCAG 2.2 AA contrast ratios of 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text and controls.
  • Full keyboard operation, a skip link, and a visible focus indicator on every interactive element.
  • Touch targets of at least 44 by 44 pixels, and 48 pixels for primary controls.
  • Tabs and FAQ accordions built with the expected keyboard behavior and state announcements for screen readers.
  • Form fields with visible labels, required fields marked in text, and error messages that describe how to fix the problem.
  • Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images and empty alternative text on decorative ones.
  • No sound plays automatically. The homepage background video is silent and decorative, and does not play at all when your system asks for reduced motion.
  • Smooth scrolling and entrance animations are turned off when your system asks for reduced motion.
  • Layouts that reflow down to 320 pixels wide without horizontal scrolling.

Known limitations

We are still reviewing the site with a range of screen readers and browsers. The team carousel scrolls sideways by design; it can be operated with its arrow buttons, with a keyboard once focused, or by swiping. The homepage background video loops continuously and does not currently offer a pause control; it stays still for visitors whose system requests reduced motion. If anything makes a page hard to use, please tell us so we can fix it.
